Hardanger Embroidery

Named after the Hardanger region of Western Norway, where it originated hundreds of years ago, Hardanger is a form of openwork embroidery.

Scandinavian immigrants brought it to North America and Hardanger continues to gain popularity. Solglyt Lodge helps that process by arranging Hardanger workshops for beginners and those with more experience.

Sewing Club

Solglyt Lodge Sewing Club members meet regularly to share fellowship and knowledge as they work on special projects.
Although the primary purpose of the Sewing Club is not sewing anymore, the Sewing Club Meetings are a good venue to collect information on Norwegian culture, sewing, baking and crafts.
The club meets on on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 12:30 pm at the homes of members.

Cultural Crafts Drop-In Night

Held on the fourth Monday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 in the Nordic Room at DCSC.

Anyone interested in getting together to work on a Norwegian cultural craft such as rosemaling, Hardanger embroidery, Norweave, carving, etc. is encouraged to bring a project and supplies to meet in the Nordic Room on the fourth Monday of each month.
